Deer Camp...

Everyone knows that Mike was not a hunter, but he was definately a "man's man." Marsha sent me this email the other day, and well I just had to share it. I changed a name or 2, but it just seemed a little funnier this way:

It was that time of year again, and all the guys were at deer camp. No one wanted to room with Bob, because he snored so loudly. They decided that is was not fair to make one of them stay with Bob the entire time, so they voted to take turns.

The first guy slept with Bob and comes to breakfast the next morning with his hair a mess and his eyes all bloodshot. The other men asked, "Man, what happened to you?" He said, "Bob snored so loudly, I just sat up and watched him all night long!"

The next night it was a different guy's turn. In the morning, the same thing- his hair was all standing up, eyes all bloodshot. Once again the men asked, "Man, what happened to you? You look aweful!" He replied, "That Bob could shake the roof off a house with his snoring. I watched him all night long!"

The third night was Mike's turn. Now Mike was a tanned, older cowboy; a real man's man. The next morning he came to breakfast all bright-eyed and bushy tailed. "Good morning!" he said.

They could not believe it! "Man what happened?" Mike answered, "Well, we got ready for bed. I went and tucked Bob into bed, patted him on the butt and kissed him goodnight. Bob sat up and watched ME all night!"

i miss you a little...

There is a song John Michael Montgomery sings that I have always loved called "I Miss You a Little." It goes something like this... "I miss you a little since you've been gone, a few little memories keep hangin' on. I miss you a little I guess you could say a little too much, a little too often, a little more everyday." Today marks 36 weeks since you made your journey... I miss you a little too much, a little too often,
a little more everyday!
Love & miss you,
Ang

what a ride...

~Lifes journey is not to arrive safely at the grave in a well preserved body... but rather to skid in sideways totally worn out shouting
"WOO-HOO! WHAT A RIDE!"

Mike you had a great ride... way too short, but you lived every minute of it to the fullest! RIP babe!

Love you always,

Ang

bAcK fRoM BoIsE...

~Well Boise was a bittersweet trip for us. We had a great time, but of course we missed Mike. Lots of georgeous cars to see, glad I was not one of the judges! The Woodie took 1st in its class "Altered Street Wagons" and Mike won the Street Achievement award for Design and Originality. It was a great tribute to him. So with that said... here are a few photos from the show.
Enjoy...

On the Road to Boise...

~Last year Mike was invited to take the Woodie up to the Boise Roadster Show in Idaho. However "chemo-land" (as he would refer to it) kept him from being able to go. So, this year Spencer and I are going to haul the Woodie up to Boise and show it for him. It is a 4 day show running March 12-15. We will post some pictures when we return!

Dear Dad,

I missed you. I missed you during the Super Bowl, of all things. It wasn't even the Cowboys! (Is it ever?) But, I missed you.

We wouldn't have gotten together for a big party. But, I would have called you. We would've chatted a bit about football...maybe the Cardinals. Maybe the fact that we couldn't cheer for the Cards because they're always playing the Cowboys...and where do my loyalties lie.

We would've eventually talked about the weather. It's beautiful here. I'm sure it's snowy and cold in Utah.

I would've said Good-Bye and most of all...
I Love You.

Oh Christmas Tree...

I just wanted to share some pictures of Mikey's little "hot rod" tree that we put up at the cemetery for him.

On December 23rd, Leavitt's has what they call their "Luminary Display". They light over 6,000 candles in honor of our loved ones that have passed. Here are a couple of pictures from that beautiful night...

And last but not least... Cindy went up on Christmas Eve and lit a candle at Mike's grave. Now we had some very wicked weather that day and on Christmas day as well. I mean it was basically a blizzard! But with a little help from his sweet spirit... that candle stayed lit until December 27th, when it finally burnt down to the bottom! What an amazing sight...
